for a private house in a master plan by MVRDV on a former industrial site
in the centre of Leiden. K07IV21 is a project that turns the classical functions of a residential building upside down. The living area, including a spacious terrace, is situated on the top floor while the bedrooms are in the middle of the building. The ground floor allows for one big multipurpose space devoted to working and playing. It is directly related to a porch-like outdoor area in front of the house. The cantilevering first floor shelters this entrance area and gives it a feeling of comfort and privacy. |
